Welcome to TBFree Western Cape

The TBFREE centre in the Western Cape proudly welcomes you. Thank you for joining us in the fight against TB.

Because every breath counts!

TBFREE Western Cape started operating in April 2007in Boland Overberg, Central Karoo, Winelands and recently the City of Cape Town Metro Municipalities.

Since its inception the centre has trained 1830 DOT Supporters; who have been trained through TBFREE’s HWSETA (Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority) accredited manual, which is rated NQF (National Qualifications Authority) level 1 and carries 3 credits for each learner who successfully completes the training.

The DOT supporters are linked to various clinics in the province and are responsible for observing and supporting TB patients to adhere to their regime. The DOT Supporters are also intensely involved with the various TB awareness and social mobilization campaigns.
