Welcome to TBFree Gauteng
The TBFREE centre in Gauteng proudly welcomes you. Thank you for joining us in the fight against TB.Because every breath counts!
TBFREE Gauteng started operating in October 2004 in all of the six district municipalities in the province.
Since its inception the centre has trained 6156 DOT Supporters; who have been trained through TBFREE’s HWSETA (Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority) accredited manual, which is rated NQF (National Qualifications Authority) level 1 and carries 3 credits for each learner who successfully completes the training.
The DOT supporters are linked to various clinics in the province and are responsible for observing and supporting TB patients to adhere to their regime. The DOT Supporters are also intensely involved with the various TB awareness and social mobilization campaigns.
